Moscow International House of Music
State Budget Institution of Culture of Moscow City "Moscow International House of Music" is a modern performing arts center, which has no analogues in Russia.This independent association organizes performances of Russian and foreign symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, soloists-instrumentalists, opera and Ballet, theater, jazz, pop, folk groups.
House music has a total area about 42 thousand square meters. It was built in 2002 on the initiative of the Moscow Government and public figure Vladimir Spivakov. MIHOM building became the main element of a large architectural ensemble on Kosmodamianskaya Moskva River embankment, with a wonderful view of the ancient Novospassky Monastery. In October 2003 Moscow International House opened its first season and immediately established itself as a prestigious concert and theater space, in which stars such as Valery Gergiev, Yuri Bashmet, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Jessye Norman, Kiri Te Kanawa, Kent Nagano, Zurab Sotkilava, Denis Matsuev, Igor Butman, Alexey Kozlov, Oleg Tabakov, Alla Demidova, Sergei Jurassic and many, many others have performed. House music is the residence of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi" and the Symphony Orchestra of Moscow "Russian Philharmonic".
