Tsarskaya Okhota
The country restaurant Tsarskaya okhota is considered one of the best restaurants of the Russian cuisine. You may wonder what does Tsarskaya Okhota mean, and the literal translation to it would be "Royal Hunt". The restaurant is known for its specialty – pies «Okhoti». People from all over Moscow arrive to Zhukovka to taste them.
"The restaurant is famous for the meetings that took place there. The most legendary rendezvous is that of Boris Yeltsin's dinner with Jacques Chirac in 1998. Tsarskaya okhota became the first Post-Soviet restaurant where the real ethnic cuisine and the European restaurant service have met. The restaurant is in style of a cozy lodge with a big Russian oven that is decorated with portraits of imperial persons, oven forks, pots, a rake and other utensils." (Novikov, 2016). At this restaurant you will be able to find all of the Russian traditional dishes such as blini, pirogi, borscht and more. All of the dishes are prepared exceptionally well and the atmosphere helps bring more of the Russian cultural spirit to the place. Thus, this restaurant is a great one to eat at when you're traveling through Moscow. |
