Museum of Animation
The museum exhibition includes over 5 thousand items; a lot more exhibits are carefully stored in the archives. All rooms are equipped with the screens displaying non-stop documentary footage; there is a large number of interactive exhibits and a screening room. There is an experimental cartoon studio, where everyone can try his or her hand at this magical, time-consuming, historically evident, organically penetrating into other forms of art and all the spheres of human life, truly mystical process. In the museum, there are displays of a large number of interactive exhibits, technology and equipment with which professional artists and operators worked to make the experience amazing for everyone. The museum also displays dolls and decorations used in some of well-known cartoons by Russian and foreign studios such as Soyuzmultfilm, Walt Disney and many others. The museum is open for both independent visits and for excursion groups, with the excursions run based on prior registration every day including weekends. Tours offered by the Museum are most unusual. Visitors are greeted by animation cartoon characters. After that, everybody is invited to a tea party. The tour itself is like a game. Visitors are continuously involved. They are asked questions and awarded prizes. Closer to the end of the tour, all the visitors make themselves comfortable in a small cosy cinema room and watch animated cartoons newly made by various studios. After the tour has finished, one may purchase production of animation studios. (World Walk, 2016) |
